Glenisla Hotel has been a coaching inn since at least as far back as the early 1700s, at one time one of many scattered throughout the Angus Glens. Over the years one by one the hotels have disappeared, and when Glenisla Hotel went up for sale in early 2020 we were afraid it too might be lost – the end of the last hotel in the area. So we pulled everything together to acquire it, and listed the rooms on Airbnb to keep the old inn as a place for those who love the glens. Bookings started coming in immediately, confirming that this little hotel is fulfilling a need in the area!

In February 2021 Gary Norwood of Kirkmichael Hotel stepped forward to take up the running of the Bar & Restaurant, so now, Wednesdays to Sundays, the Bar & Restaurant are operating and the Hotel has come to life in the heart of the Glen.
Glenisla Hotel (the accommodation) and Glenisla Cafe/Bar & Restaurant operate as two separate organisations sharing one lovely building.
This area of Angus holds many opportunities to take part in several wonderful activities and view beautiful sights.
The 10 beautiful en-suite bedrooms are fresh and up-to-date, there’s good wifi throughout the property, there is a 40-seater restaurant, a warm and friendly Snug, and a stunning Bar.
We want to ensure our guests remember the Glenisla Hotel for our warm welcome, great accommodation, relaxing public areas, good quality food and warm hospitality.
